There are things in life that remain both powerful and affordable. Case in point: the new JBL Arena 130 bookshelf loudspeakers. Who but JBL engineers could devise a loudspeaker where high-performance sound, high-definition imaging, and high-modernist elegance go hand-in-hand at a low price? The Arena 130’s 7” (178mm) polycellulose woofer and 1” (25mm) soft dome tweeter combine to deliver standard-setting performance that’s both ultra-powerful and ultra-lifelike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The little speakers that do. I originally bought these as front presence speakers for a pair Klipsch RF/RC-62 II's and a KSW-311. After a little experience with these little speakers it turns out that although nowhere as efficient they sound better. These are far more musical, have a better sound quality than the RF/RC-62s. I purchased an Arena 125 C for a center channel and now these little speakers are my front and center channel speakers . They are impressive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Serious quality sound I bought a pair of these speakers a few months ago, to upgrade my rear speakers in my surround sound set-up. The quality and finish is to a high standard, and they look great in white. The sound from these speakers is powerful and direct and has greatly improved the surround sound experience. I highly recommend these speakers, especially at this price point. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excelenter regallautsprecher mindestens oberklasse, für einen regallautsprecher bass ohne ende, klare mitten und sanfte höhen. im direkten vergleich mit lautsprecher um die 800 euro sind die lautsprecher fast gleichwertig. lediglich in der brillianz und detailabbildung sind sie nicht ganz so klar und wirken etwas schwammig, was aber keine 500 euro mehrpreis rechtfertigt

Right now I have two 25 year old JBL CF-100 speakers which were great, but are sadly going bad. Is it a good idea (would it work ok as far as the sound) if I bought 4 Arena 130's and stacked one on top of one, each stack of 2 on opposite sides of the room

How would these speakers match up with my JBL ES30? I currently have 4 of the ES30 to make up my 5.1 system and I would like to expand to 7.1 Thank you.

Asked by: malcolm40
Thank you for your question. As they have the same Impedance of 8 Ohms and can handle almost the same range of power, these speakers should make a good addition to your surround system. If you need further assistance, please submit a case request at https://www.jbl.com/support-contact.htm and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.

Your answers on rms and peak power are confusing rms power is different than peak power so if the speaker handles 125 watts rms there should be a peak power to handle any sound bursts that may occur.example 125 watt rms 200 watt peak please clarify.

Asked by: joseph58
We only mentioned that the RMS of the Arena 130 is between 20W- 125W . Meaning that any receiver between the 25W to 125W can still use this speaker. It's better not to think about Peak power when trying to figure out if the receiver is compatible with the receiver.

Hi. I plan to have Harman AVR 171S (7.2 receiver) together with JBL cinema 610 (5.1 speakers) with Arena 130. plan to setup all of them as 7.1 in my big living room. Which ports should be used for Arena speakers? And do you recommend such combination?

Asked by: Bercran
The Cinema 610 is rated at 4 ohms while the AVR 171s receiver is rated at 8 ohms. You will need to find a 4 ohm receiver in order for it to be compatible with these speakers.

Why Arena 130's when Studio 230's are the same price, which is the better speaker for Home Theater & Music playback?

Asked by: HTFan
Both units has a great sound quality and better speakers for surround sound. Although, Studio 230's are considered as one of the latest high end loudspeakers.

Can the Arena 130 speakers be used as floor speakers. Can they be put up on six inch pedestals ?

Asked by: lb1950
Look at how Cinemas & Concert halls setup their speakers. They array them above, but aimed at the listener. Creates a beam of sound to ensure the sound reaches the listener with it's best potential. Get em' off the ground & aimed at the ears. 1 last thing: If setting up surround speakers? Always have them at least 18 inches above the listener so the sound isn't creaming them and overpowering the front speakers which deliver the anchoring sound. ~ peace

Hi! The Arena 130 speakers will work without any issues, but what we suggest is to also contact the distributor of your receiver, so that they can also confirm the details to you about compatibility.
